Amazon has rolled out some important changes for sellers this year. Here's a quick rundown of what you need to know:
Shipping and Storage
- Shipments need to arrive at Amazon warehouses faster - 45 days for US sellers, 75 days for international sellers
- New fees if your shipments have issues like incorrect items or late arrival
- Option to pay to store inventory in specific regions, but no fee, if you're okay with your stock, spread out
- Discounted storage fees for standard-size items during slower seasons ($0.87 to $0.78 per cubic meter)
- $400 credit for new sellers' first shipment within 90 days of listing
- Some auto-replenished products are exempt from storage surcharge starting June 1st.
Fees and Commissions
- 5% commission for clothes under $20, starting January 15th
- 10% average commission discount for new FBA products
- Changes to fees for Amazon's logistics services
- Sellers using auto-replenishment with Amazon's inbound service get a discount on storage and warehousing fees
